Coming soon is a section dedicated to all of the volunteer, donation, and other mitzvah opportunities available in the community, and the world.
Something to get you started:
Winter and holidays are coming once again! To everyone who knits, weaves, and crochets, we are asking for scarf donations for holiday gifts at St. Elizabeth's Shelter. This will be our SIXTH year and we hope you will participate. All scarves will be welcome! So please pass the word around to everyone you know. This project has been a big success and all the recipients have truly loved their gifts.
(About 80% of the homeless are men so keep men or unisex colors in mind.)
We will be collecting scarves until Saturday, December 20th at the following locations: (Late donations are welcome, too!)
Oodles Yarn and Bead Gallery - 411 W.Water St.
Needle's Eye - 839 Paseo de Peralta
Looking Glass Yarn and Gifts - 1210 Luisa St.
Miriam's Well 614 Paseo de Peralta
Temple Beth Shalom - 205 E. Barcelona
Thanks and happy knitting, weaving,
and crocheting!

Here's your chance to practice Tikkun Olam. An Interfaith Coalition is again providing an overflow shelter for homeless women and their children this winter. Are you willing to be a co-chair of a TWO WEEK effort at TBS? Also, we need volunteers to open the TBS shelter and welcome the women during Christmas week and the week of March 30. That's just a two hour commitment to keep homeless women and children safe, warm and sheltered during cold winter nights. Call Sue Breslauer (474-0922) or email her (tbssac@comcast.net ) to volunteer.
