Religious School at Temple Beth Shalom
Where Jewish learning comes alive

A place where children discover heritage, community, and purpose.

At Temple Beth Shalom’s Religious School, children from Pre-K through high school find more than lessons — they find belonging. Our classrooms are circles of connection, where each student is seen, valued, and invited to bring their whole self. Here, Jewish life is not something we study from a distance — it is something we live together: through story and song, Hebrew and holiday, friendship and reflection. Every gathering becomes a small act of building community and cultivating wonder.

What Makes Our School Special

Small, spirited classes
Our intentionally sized groups nurture close relationships, allowing each child to be known by name, story, and spirit.

Faith in action
We practice our values — kindness, curiosity, courage — through service, celebration, and authentic engagement.

Hebrew, prayer, and text
Students gain confidence in Hebrew and prayer, discovering how our ancient words still speak to modern hearts.

The rhythm of the year
Our calendar follows the Jewish seasons — a living cycle of joy, gratitude, and renewal. Each festival opens a new door to wonder and meaning.

Tikkun Olam — repairing the world
We root social responsibility in empathy. Students learn that every small act of goodness helps mend a larger world.

Community and belonging
Every child is part of Klal Yisrael — woven into our Temple family, our Santa Fe community, and the great unfolding story of the Jewish people.

Our Approach to Jewish Learning

We believe that deep Jewish learning happens when head, heart, and hands work together.

Head — Developing Hebrew language, exploring Torah and sacred text, and engaging the mind with curiosity.

Heart — Building friendships, exploring values, and finding relevance and beauty in Jewish life.

Hands — Creating, celebrating, and giving: through art, service, ritual, and shared experiences.

Our students don’t just learn about Judaism — they practice living it. They sing blessings, ask questions, share food, and help shape the community they belong to.

Join our Community

We invite you to join us on this journey of discovery, connection, and growth. Whether this is your family’s first step into Jewish education or a continuation of your child’s learning, we would love to welcome you.
