Temple Beth Shalom and its members are committed to the foundational Jewish ideal of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. We strive to engage in our community, city, and the world in positive ways. Finding opportunities for adults and children at TBS to engage in meaningful work is the essential role of the social justice committee.

Our members, young and old, work to make a difference in many ways:

  • Volunteering at the Interfaith Shelter

  • Food and clothing drives

  • Legislative advocacy

  • Mentoring homeless families in transition

  • Creating safe havens for troubled families

  • Providing care for ill or elderly Temple
    members through the Mitzvah Corp

  • Tutoring at Santa Fe Public Schools

  • Engaging in dialogue with other faith groups
